About The Position

As a Paint Technician, you’ll paint vehicle body parts in accordance with quality standards. You will prepare work surfaces, match or blend paint colors, and deliver high-quality craftsmanship to help delight customers. The role involves using appropriate painting equipment and following manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and safety standards. Requirements

• At least two years of automotive experience.
• Valid, in-state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to operate an automobile.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Nice To Haves

• ICAR certification or interest in becoming certified.
• OEM certification or interest in becoming certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze damaged areas and prepare them for painting, including removing rust and grease and masking parts that are not to be painted or coated.
• Prepare color tint to match or blend paint color.
• Paint vehicles efficiently and to a high standard using a sprayer or brush as appropriate.
• Adhere to factory and dealership procedures when performing warranty work.
• Operate Collision Center equipment safely and productively, following AutoNation Safety Standards for personal protective equipment on the production floor.
• Inspect craftsmanship and note runs, sags, or unpainted areas.
• Mix paint and chemicals according to manufacturer directions and specifications.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations affecting Collision Center operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA guidelines.
• Develop superior product knowledge to provide high-quality repairs.
