About The Position

The Paint Coding Engineer will be responsible for coordinating new program launches, managing projects from design to launch, and improving/supporting manufacturing operations. This role involves interacting with customers and suppliers, establishing inventory levels, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and providing support to operators and technicians. The engineer will also be responsible for creating and maintaining process documentation and applying geometric dimensions and tolerances. A key aspect of the role is developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new program launches from design to launch, including design, line layouts, capital procurement, equipment programming, setup, and training.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Establish appropriate inventory levels for all material, tools, and equipment, including perishable work holding.
  • Develop and troubleshoot manufacturing processes to meet or exceed established metrics (TRS, Scrap, Process Capability, Rework, etc.).
  • Provide support to operators and technicians to identify root cause and corrective actions for process, system, or equipment issues.
  • Coordinate and lead initiatives with other departments when applicable.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including tooling and operator instructions.
  • Apply proper geometric dimensions and tolerances to product documentation and designed components.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, material and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, manufacturing methods, and quality control standards.
