About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Pain Psychologist to primarily support the Margaret Cochran Corbin VA Campus and Brooklyn VA Medical Center located at 423 E. 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010 and 800 Poy Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Requirements

  • Current, full, and unrestricted professional license in any U.S. state, territory, or Washington, D.C.
  • No history of restricted, suspended, revoked, or denied licensure.
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Degree must be from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
  • Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.
  • Active AHA BLS Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a professional psychologist.
  • Experience providing behavioral health interventions for chronic pain.
  • All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in health psychology, behavioral medicine, or chronic pain management strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for patients with chronic pain.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Provide treatment for conditions including: Chronic pain, Depression, Anxiety, Substance use disorders, Emotional and cognitive issues
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Biofeedback, Mindfulness interventions, Psychoeducation
  • Conduct individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family/caregiver counseling, and psychological testing.
  • Provide telehealth services using VA-approved platforms.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary pain management treatment planning.
  • Educate patients and families regarding chronic pain management.
  • Maintain patient documentation and treatment plans in CPRS/VistA.
  • Participate in Pain Team conferences, rounds, discharge planning meetings, clinics, and departmental meetings.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and patient education.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
  • Support department operations and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Complete mandatory VA training and compliance activities.
