About The Position

RieLes Group is seeking an experienced Full-Time Pain Management RN to join their team at the Pain Management Clinic at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This role involves providing pain management services to military personnel and their families. The position offers a competitive compensation package including health benefits and paid time off.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice medicine in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Certified by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Certified by American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with pain management or related field
  • Continuously employed, for a minimum of one (1) year, as a registered nurse (RN) in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a clinic nurse within the last three (3) years
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers
  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills to communicate efficiently with interdisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably in the Pain Clinic
  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention, and treatment of Chronic and Acute Pain is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Providing pain management services for assigned patients
  • Performing medication education and assessing for medication changes
  • Collaborating with case manager RN and physicians to manage care plan
  • Documenting and maintaining records of interactions with patients and their health care teams in a timely manner
  • Following established clinical protocols/guidelines and provides appropriate patient instructions
  • Tracking patients, patients’ needs and referrals
  • Resolving any issues and contact appropriate parties for follow up
  • Participating in quality record reviews as requested
  • Maintaining nursing knowledge base to be current with accepted community standards and best practices
  • Following established patient education guides
