About The Position

This role involves providing longitudinal care for patients in the Pain Management Center at the Faulkner Campus. The nurse will work in a busy procedural setting, caring for pain management clinic patients. Responsibilities include teaching and providing care for initial, follow-up, and procedure patients (including fluoroscopy), managing intrathecal therapy, and responding to patient requests/inquiries. The nurse will collaborate to provide excellent care in the safest environment, triage urgent calls, manage patient messages/calls, and set priorities for care based on acuity. They will also be aware of clinic flow and adjust provider schedules to accommodate urgent care needs.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • 3-5 years Med/Surg with Telemetry experience required
  • Excellent patient assessment skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Ability to demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards

Nice To Haves

  • Pain Management Certification preferred
  • Procedural/Pain Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care.
  • Ensure patients receive the best treatment for acute and/or chronic pain.
  • Provide longitudinal care for patients in the Pain Management Center.
  • Work in a busy procedural setting providing care to pain management clinic patients.
  • Teach and provide care for initial, follow-up, and procedure patients (including fluoroscopy).
  • Manage intrathecal therapy.
  • Respond to patients' requests/inquiries.
