This role involves providing longitudinal care for patients in the Pain Management Center Faulkner Campus. The nurse will work in a busy procedural setting, providing care to pain management clinic patients. This includes teaching and care for initial, follow-up, and procedure patients (including fluoroscopy), management of intrathecal therapy, and responding to patients' requests/inquiries. The nurse will also triage urgent calls, manage patient messages/calls, set priorities for care based on acuity, and be aware of clinic flow to re-arrange provider schedules for urgent care needs. The position is at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham, committed to supporting patient care, research, teaching, and service to the community. Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is a non-profit, community teaching hospital located in Jamaica Plain, founded in 1900, offering comprehensive care in a wide variety of specialties. It is a Magnet designated hospital.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • 3-5 years Med/Surg with Telemetry experience required
  • Excellent patient assessment skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Ability to demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards

Nice To Haves

  • Pain Management Certification preferred
  • Procedural/Pain Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care.
  • Ensure patients receive the best treatment for acute and/or chronic pain.
  • Provide longitudinal care for patients in the Pain Management Center Faulkner Campus.
  • Work in a busy procedural setting providing care to pain management clinic patients.
  • Teach and care for initial, follow-up, and procedure patients (including fluoroscopy).
  • Manage intrathecal therapy.
  • Respond to patients' requests/inquiries.
