Pain Management Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
About The Position
Compass Palliative Care seeks Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants with experience and interest in palliative and pain management. The practice provides palliative and pain management appointments for California-based patients and services in assisted living facility (ALF) settings in the Burbank area. Practitioners are assigned a specific patient load for which they are responsible. The program is run by experienced, board-certified physicians who provide staff training and in-service education and support staff advancement and patient outcomes. The position offers flexible days and hours and involves working on the road.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in California.
- Must have an active DEA license.
- Experience and interest in palliative and pain management.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients in an ALF/SNF environment.
- Provide palliative and pain management to best treat patients.
- Perform pain management procedures as needed.
- Define and document patient diagnoses.
- Prescribe and refill medications.
- Provide patient and family education and management.
- Record findings and treatment courses in patient charts, including follow-up notes.
- Participate in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals.
