About The Position

The Paid Search Manager will play a pivotal role in driving customer acquisition efforts on Investopedia’s Performance Marketing Team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Google and Microsoft platforms and a strategic mindset, allowing them to deliver flawless campaign execution, actionable reporting, and the thought leadership necessary to maximize our marketing impact. This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a heavy focus on paid media execution.
  • Track record of managing or supporting significant monthly media spends ($200,000+), while maintaining strict profitability targets.
  • Deep experience with Google Ads; strong understanding of campaign structure, bidding strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate full-funnel performance and connect campaign metrics to business outcomes and P&L impact.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of ownership; proactively identifies opportunities, investigates performance trends, and drives solutions independently.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data platforms such as BigQuery, Looker, or similar BI tools and experience synthesizing data from multiple sources preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, execution, and ongoing optimization of paid search campaigns (Google Ads), managing performance against acquisition revenue and P&L goals.
  • Conduct full-funnel analysis - from impression through account open - to identify performance drivers and optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance; translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve efficiency and scale.
  • Independently manage budgets, bidding strategies, keyword expansion, and testing roadmaps to maximize ROI.
  • Partner with analytics and data teams to ensure accurate measurement and leverage data from multiple sources for deeper insights.
  • Continuously A/B test and iterate on ad creative, landing pages, and targeting strategies to improve conversion rates and overall performance.
