About The Position

This is a temporary position intended to help satisfy the 180-hour clinical experience requirement for students enrolled in a Medical Assistant academic program. Will work under the office manager’s direction with supervision of the preceptor Medical Assistant, and office coordinator to provide general medical assisting functions for the practice in accordance with the policies, procedures, and guidelines established within the organization, unit. Measures and records vital signs, provides initial patient assessment, obtains concise patient history, and provides various clinical information and support to providers. Processes and posts information to patient’s chart, educates patients and families regarding medications, treatments and care, and referrals. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Enrolled in an accredited Medical Assistant academic program or institution
