About The Position

At St. Tammany Health System, the PACU RN is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The nurse provides care through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and equipment, and other health care team members. The nurse must be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call.

Scheduled weekly hours are TBD. The work schedule includes scheduled shifts Monday through Saturday and call only on Sunday, with call requirements on weekdays and weekends.

Requirements

• Current Louisiana RN license.
• Current BLS and ALS certification through an ILCOR-provided course; the course must include a manikin check-off.
• PALS certification within 6 months of hire through an ILCOR-provided course; the course must include a manikin check-off.
• Good physical health, including the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work with a moderate level of noise.

Nice To Haves

• Combination of acute medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Critical care or post-anesthesia nursing experience preferred.
