About The Position

The PACU RN is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The nurse provides care through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and equipment, and other healthcare team members. The role requires availability to be in-house within 30 minutes when on call. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Saturday, with call only on Sunday; call requirements apply on weekdays and weekends. Weekly hours are listed as TBD.

Requirements

• Current Louisiana RN license.
• Current BLS and ALS certifications through an ILCOR-provided course; the course must include a manikin check-off.
• PALS certification within 6 months of hire through an ILCOR-provided course; the course must include a manikin check-off.
• Good physical health and ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting at least 50 pounds and working with a moderate level of noise.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts Monday through Saturday and meet weekday and weekend call requirements, including Sunday call.

Nice To Haves

• Combination of acute medical/surgical nursing experience is preferred.
• Critical care or post-anesthesia nursing experience is preferred.
