About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, the PACU RN implements physician orders and provides continuous, high-quality nursing care. The nurse continually evaluates patients’ conditions and safeguards their safety, comfort, and privacy. The role provides comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation and includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients and families in preparation for discharge. The nurse may also assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile technique when appropriate. The facility provides ambulatory surgical services across GI Lab, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, and Urology. The role offers no call, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders.
• Provide continuity and quality of nursing care for patients, continually evaluating their condition.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family care in preparation for discharge.
• At times, assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile technique as appropriate.
