About The Position

Peachford Hospital is a 246-bed private psychiatric hospital conveniently located in the Dunwoody neighborhood of north Atlanta. We specialize in the treatment of mental/behavioral health, drug addiction and concurrent disorders for adults, seniors and adolescents. This commitment extends to the family and community of our patients as a whole. Peachford is a 24 hour a day facility, seven days a week. We are pleased to announce the following available position: ECT Registered Nurse (RN) PRN with Hours Available: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6:00a - 2:30p. Our ECT Recovery RNs work in a fast-paced PACU setting, recovering patients who received ECT treatments. Our RNs also work closely with our psychiatrists and anesthesiologists to deliver safe care. ECT Nurses are responsible for all safety and patient activities before during and after an ECT treatment. The nurse is expected to follow all safety practices, infection control, ECT and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • ICU, PACU, emergency room, medical-surgical, or acute care medical hospital experience is required.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be in place at time of hire.
  • Demonstrated competency in Patient Care Practices, Medication Procedures, Therapeutic Boundaries, Common Psychiatric Diagnoses, Infection Control Practices, Fire Safety and Environment of Care Practices, Age Appropriate Care, Risk Management and Patient Behavior Management.
  • Demonstrated Competency in Education and Support, Informed Consents, Pre-Treatment Nursing Care, Nursing Care During Treatment, Post-Treatment Nursing Care, Documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA regulations and Performance Improvement.
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Combination of education and years of experience can substitute for degree requirement.
  • Some experience in working with mental health is preferred.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Cardiac monitor, AED, ECT machine, Intravenous access skills, Code Blue response, use of nebulizer, general anesthesia recovery, suction, glucometer, malignant hyperthermia, agitation and sedation scale, time out protocol, EKG, specimen collection (urine, blood), ACLS, BLS, CPI, verbal de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities
