About The Position

Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time opportunity in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role is at a respected community hospital serving Northern New Mexico for more than 70 years, offering a collaborative surgical environment. The position involves providing post-anesthesia recovery care, monitoring patient recovery following anesthesia, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The RN will work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License REQUIRED
• Associate Degree in Nursing REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification REQUIRED
• Minimum 1 Year PACU Experience REQUIRED
• PALS Certification Required Within 3 Months of Hire

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients recovering from anesthesia
• Communicate patient status and changes with the surgical team
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Educate patients and families regarding recovery and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation while providing exceptional patient care
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care in a collaborative surgical environment
• Monitor patient recovery following anesthesia while ensuring safety and comfort
• Work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff
