About The Position

At Silver Cross Surgery Center, health and care are inseparable, focusing on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for surgical procedures. The center utilizes technology for surgeons across various specialties including Anesthesiology, Ear, Nose, and Throat, Head and Neck Surgery, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology/Oculoplastic, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Spine Surgery, and Urology/Lithotripsy. The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continually evaluating their condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. This role may involve assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques. The nurse will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in IL
  • BLS and ACLS Required
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care
