Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Willing and able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms.
  • Able to stand for up to a 12-hour shift on concrete and/or platforms.
  • Able to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts.
  • Able to work with a knife (if trained).
  • Able to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees).
  • Able to work in a wet and humid environment.
  • Able to wear a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes.
  • Able to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Able to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals.
  • Able to work around strong smells/odors.
  • Able to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms.
  • Able to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift.
  • Able to walk long distances.
  • May require certification to operate various pieces of equipment.
  • May require repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • May require single lifting of heavy objects up to 60 lbs.
  • May require lifting of objects using mechanical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with hand tools, knives, machinery and other equipment to process meat products for the consumer.
  • Perform essential production tasks and support coworkers.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Help maintain a safe and efficient production line.
  • Ensure products reach families across America.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
