About The Position

This role has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties listed below. The position also involves promoting a safe working environment and adhering to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties requested by their supervisor in compliance with Federal and State Laws. Continued employment remains on an “at-will” basis.

Requirements

Ability to work with 30-40 lb. materials.

Responsibilities

Ensure product safety and quality.
Promote a safe working environment.
Understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures.
Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or the coordinator.
Pack at standard rate.
Operate a punch.
Load conveyors and flamers.
Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
Remove scrap from around the line.
Grind and pull plastic as needed.
Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
Initial and date box labels.
Make out unit tickets.
Perform other work assigned by the Supervisor.
