Packer - First & Second Shift
About The Position
The Packer is responsible for inspecting, assembling, packaging, labeling, and preparing products for shipment while ensuring compliance with established quality, safety, and production standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient manufacturing operations by identifying product defects, following prescribed packing procedures, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and supporting production activities. The Packer collaborates closely with Operators, Quality personnel, and fellow team members to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and effective shift-to-shift communication.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required to safely perform job duties and communicate effectively in the workplace.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally; use team-lift procedures for items exceeding 50 pounds.
- Willingness to learn operational procedures and participate in on-the-job training.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to work overtime as required
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, assembly, warehouse, or production environments preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with all company procedures and regulations.
- Inspect products for defects and notify Operators and/or Quality personnel of any non-conforming products.
- Assemble boxes and products as required.
- Pack products according to established packing configurations and customer specifications.
- Participate in roll changes and other production support activities.
- Perform housekeeping and sanitizing duties to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Communicate production issues, defects, and specific requirements during shift changes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
