About The Position

This position is for a Packer on the D crew, working from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties. The employee is expected to promote a safe working environment and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring for quality defects, packing at a standard rate, operating a punch, loading conveyors and flamers, maintaining housekeeping, removing scrap, grinding and pulling plastic, making and unitizing cartons, and initialing/dating box labels. The role also involves making out unit tickets and performing other assigned duties by the Supervisor. The ability to work with 30-40 lb. materials is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product safety and quality
• Promote a safe working environment
• Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Monitor ware for quality defects and inform the operator and/or coordinator
• Pack at standard rate
• Operate a punch
• Load conveyors and flamers
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine
• Remove scrap from around the line
• Grind and pull plastic as needed
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned
• Initial and date box labels
• Make out unit tickets
• Perform other assigned duties by the Supervisor
