About The Position

The Packer supports shipping operations at the company’s South Bend, Indiana location by ensuring products are packed accurately and efficiently for shipment. This role receives carts and cartons from Pickers, checks product quantities against orders, assembles cartons as needed, and packs items with appropriate materials and documentation. For export orders, the role may include preparing packing slips and proforma invoices; Export Packers may also stack cartons on pallets and gather shipment weight and dimension data. Performance is evaluated on accuracy, productivity, efficiency, on-time performance, and safety. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of warehouse experience.
Ability to operate a pallet jack, or willingness to be trained.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Proficiency using a keyboard and mouse.
Strong counting and sorting skills.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Attention to detail and commitment to efficiency.

Responsibilities

Receive carts and cartons from Pickers containing products ready for shipment.
Verify and count product quantities against orders.
Assemble cartons as needed and pack products using appropriate packing materials, including certificates.
Tape cartons securely and apply necessary labels, documents, and markings.
For export orders, complete packing slips and include proforma invoices.
For Export Packers, potentially stack packed cartons on pallets and collect weight and dimension data for shipping.
