About The Position

This role involves performing duties in accordance with applicable company, safety, customer, and regulatory requirements. The primary responsibilities include operating equipment safely, picking and distributing items, preparing orders for shipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The job also requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and company safety rules.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills
  • Must be able to work in a varied, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to sit/walk/stand for long periods of time.
  • Follow all standards of PPE in the distribution center: for example, wearing steel toed shoes, safety glasses, safety vest or any other standards provided by site leadership

Responsibilities

  • Performs operations and safety check using checklist prior to using equipment.
  • Safely operates all equipment in the assigned area.
  • Utilizes pick sheet, customer order, work order, shipping order or facility WMS acquisition device to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Removes product to be shipped from designated pick locations by hand and/or powered industrial equipment.
  • Selects product using WMS according to predetermined sequence such as product code, expiration date (FIFO where required) and/or other requirements.
  • Places order on pallets or transports order to a packing, wrapping or shipping station by hand and/or powered industrial equipment.
  • Marks product picked with proper identifying information and compiles tally sheet or ticket from customer specifications.
  • Counts product and records amounts of materials or items to be shipped for shipper verification and conformance to company standards in preparation for shipment.
  • Replenishes pick locations from stock by hand or via powered industrial equipment.
  • Changes powered industrial truck batteries.
  • Practices "clean as you go housekeeping" to maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Follows corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and reports noncompliance when observed.
  • Observes all company safety rules and assists in enforcement as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
