About The Position
The Packer (2nd shift) is responsible for packing boxes of product according to specified numbers per box. This role involves visually inspecting the product to assure that a good quality product is shipped. The packer may use gages and scales to inspect the product, make labels and assure proper labeling with correct item, quantity, description, etc. The position also ensures all boxes have been sealed and that the appropriate label has been applied, and prepares pallets of box product to be sent to shipping.
Requirements
- Requires constant standing and walking (up to 10 hours per day)
- Repetitive use of both hands (up to 10 hours per day)
- Repetitive reaching at and above shoulder level and bending at the waist
- Ability to lift boxes and product weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop and twist
- Ability to utilize a computer
- Ability to read scales and gages
- Ability to detect defects in product
Responsibilities
- Pack boxes of product according to specified numbers per box
