About The Position
Mill Rock Packaging (MRP) is seeking a passionate and agile Packer for their Finishing Department. As a Packer, you will support the Operations Team by packing finished product into cartons according to customer standards, ensuring a finished, packed carton is ready for the next team member for shipping preparation. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and efficiency of the packaging process.

- Must wear hearing protection while in the production area due to elevated noise levels.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a printing company.
- GED or High School Equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Locate corrugate cartons needed for the next job during make-ready.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and empty trash throughout the day.
- Ensure labels are properly printed (if needed) and applied straight and neat.
- Pack pieces into corrugated cases according to the job order ticket and determine pack count.
- Slide the corrugated case into the tape machine once complete.
- Perform quality checks on every third carton to ensure product compliance with regulations.
- Check product for line-up, tearing/cracking, belt marks, burns, scratches or scuff marks, glue squeeze out, acceptable glue line, no glue tack, acceptable creases/score lines, and ensure gluer is not causing false creases or missing 45’s on auto bottoms.
- Maintain packing speed of the line with the operator.
- Complete a full line clearance once the job is finished.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are needed in the Operations Team.
