Packer/Scaler - 7am to 5pm
About The Position
Smithfield is seeking a Packer/Scaler to join their team. This role involves the proper grading, scaling, labeling, and packing of products, ensuring good housekeeping of the workspace. The team member will inspect seals, pack products into bags and boxes, and label containers with weights. The position requires adherence to quality specifications and may involve assisting with departmental clean-up. Rotation every 30 minutes is expected, along with performing other duties as assigned by supervisors or the Crew Leader. Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
- Vision requirement of at least 20/40 for near and far vision.
Responsibilities
- Proper grading, scaling, labeling, and packing of products.
- Good housekeeping of workspace.
- Grades product according to quality specifications.
- Visually inspect seals on pouch before packing them in a box.
- Packs product - bags, boxes, etc.
- Labels containers and marks weights.
- May assist in departmental clean-up as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
- Follow rotation every 30 minutes
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
