About The Position

The Packer – Pool Chemicals is a 12-hour rotating shift position with responsibilities including sealing and packaging dry Calcium Hypochlorite products in various container sizes, including 25 lb, 50 lb, and 100 lb pails, as well as 2000 lb intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). This role rotates through Packout, Blending, and Briquettes stations based on a weekly schedule. The position serves as the final quality checkpoint before shipment, requiring visual inspection of products and appropriate action when needed. Responsibilities include accurate record-keeping, safe operation of equipment (e.g., forklifts, lift assists, compactors), minor maintenance tasks, supporting new team members, and assisting in the Process area with housekeeping and other duties. Participation in emergency response training is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Sealing and packaging of dry Calcium Hypochlorite finished goods in 25#, 50#, and 100# pails along with 2000# IBCs.
  • Rotate through the positions of Packout, Blending, and Briquettes, and will fill each position based on the weekly schedule.
  • Act as the last point of contact that the HTH®/J3® products have before shipment, making visual assessments of the product from a product quality standpoint and taking appropriate actions when necessary.
  • Accurate record-keeping (correct weights in seal room, accurate record-keeping while reworking, etc.).
  • Operate various pieces of equipment efficiently and safely, including forklifts, lift assists, and garbage/trash compactors.
  • Provide instruction and assist new employees.
  • Assist in performing minor maintenance (replace auger, repair chain breaks, repair rolls and, tighten photocells).
  • Possess knowledge of product flow.
  • Perform assigned duties as given out by Packout A operator and/or Shift Lead.
  • Have limited job assignments in the Process area with supervision from operators in that area, involving screen cleaning, assisting with major housekeeping issues, and other tasks needed in that area.
  • Serve in the capacity of ERT member, attending all required training and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
