About The Position

This role involves operating perforation and side cutter equipment, inspecting finished product quality, and assembling/stacking rolls according to customer and in-house requirements. The position also includes obtaining packaging materials, completing quality control procedures, operating a PIT for material transport, and managing recordkeeping tasks such as printing, labeling, and stretch-wrapping. The individual must be able to independently set up a line, use scanning equipment for production logging and inventory transactions, and maintain work area cleanliness according to hygiene requirements. Adherence to BRC Food Safety Standards is mandatory. Occasional duties include acting as a fill-in/relief operator for extruder and/or pelletizer, and performing general plant housekeeping and clean-up tasks as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with extrusion experience preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to Amcor’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
  • Ability to read and write to complete required forms and verify quality products are produced.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask.
  • Ability to handle & resolve problems.
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days or nights, for 12 or more hours.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, for extended periods multiple times per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be punctual; at line on time.
  • Must be able to obtain LOTO certification.
  • Ability to read a ruler to 1/8”/tape measure and gauge caliper device.
  • Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates perforation equipment.
  • Inspects finished product quality before performing operations.
  • Operates controls for perforation robot cell. Monitors robot/perforator operations.
  • Complete operation to specifications.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed to company standards.
  • Assembles/stacks rolls per customer/in-house requirements.
  • Obtains packaging material to complete order and prepare for shipment.
  • Completes quality control procedures including roll unwind, perforation inspection, diameter inspection, perforation centering, and perforation alignment.
  • Operates PIT to transport materials.
  • Completes all recordkeeping requirements including printing, labeling, stretch-wrapping.
  • Must be able to set-up a line independently.
  • Uses JD Edwards scanning equipment to log production and record inventory transactions.
  • Performs housekeeping duties to maintain work area based on hygiene requirements.
  • Ensure all BRC Food Safety Standards are followed.
  • Operates Side Cutter.
  • Sets up cutter to product specifications.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintain quality according to work order specification.
  • Complete other operations/responsibilities highlighted above.
  • Operator Assisting.
  • Provide assistance to operator(s) when running particular products.
  • Fill-in/Relief Operator (fully trained).
  • Successfully cross trained to provide fill-in support for extruder and/or pelletizer.
  • Performs general duties such as plant housekeeping, clean-up, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Completes all work in a safe manner.
  • Follows all safety rules.
  • Complies with operating procedures and quality standards.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor/manager.
