Packer I
About The Position
The Packer I is an hourly position responsible for filling 50-pound bags of finished flour and loading them onto pallets. Pallets are moved to trailers by forklift. The role requires accurate paperwork and documentation, coordination with the Shift Miller and Loader regarding products being made and packed, and filling in on loading when needed. The position also involves completing load documentation, including trailer inspections, tailings checks, product retain samples, and verification of customer orders. The Packer must follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), BRC standards, and food safety regulations. The listed pay is $20.14 per hour, and the scheduled hours are 1 PM–9 PM.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools needed to perform the job.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Excel.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds.
- Good paperwork and documentation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Ability to conduct forklift training.
Responsibilities
- Fill 50-pound bags of finished product and load the bags onto pallets.
- Communicate with the Shift Miller and Loader to determine products being made at the mill and which products to pack.
- Fill in on loading duties when needed.
- Complete load paperwork, including trailer inspections, tailings checks, product retain samples, and verification of customer orders.
- Observe and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), BRC standards, and food safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
