The Packaging, Receiving Dock, and Warehouse Supervisor will supervise the activity of the DWP and support team with a variety of manual and administrative tasks. This role is responsible for supporting, adhering to, and implementing policies and assignments as directed by the management of George’s Inc. The supervisor will maintain up-to-date packaging and supply inventories, track discrepancies, and investigate abnormalities to ensure all items are accounted for and a clear path of use is maintained. They will also manage obsolete packaging, plan for its removal/transfer, and ensure adequate supplies are available for processing plant personnel. Communication with production, sales, and management is key to anticipating future needs and preventing downtime. The role involves checking inventories, ordering supplies to meet company thresholds, and collaborating with purchasing to track orders and deliveries. Verification of documentation, reporting, and communication around dock/warehouse/packaging activities is essential, along with suggesting inventory changes or level variances. Training shift personnel on internal processes, systems, and ordering is a core responsibility. The supervisor will also be responsible for the storage of relevant documents and ensuring proper storage and maintenance of equipment and materials, as well as proper rotation of packaging and supplies. Understanding and abiding by safety rules, reporting accidents or violations, and managing monthly department training are also critical. Adherence to and enforcement of proper radio procedures for direct reports is required.
