About The Position

The Packaging, Receiving Dock, and Warehouse Supervisor will supervise the activity of the DWP and support team with a variety of manual and administrative tasks. This role is responsible for supporting, adhering to, and implementing policies and assignments as directed by the management of George’s Inc. The supervisor will maintain up-to-date packaging and supply inventories, track discrepancies, and investigate abnormalities to ensure all items are accounted for and a clear path of use is maintained. They will also manage obsolete packaging and plan for its removal/transfer, provide necessary packaging/supplies to processing plant personnel, and communicate with various departments to anticipate future needs and eliminate downtime. This role involves checking inventories, ordering supplies to meet company thresholds, collaborating with the purchasing team, verifying documentation, and training shift personnel on internal processes and ordering systems. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for the storage of relevant documents, ensuring proper storage and rotation of equipment and materials, understanding and abiding by safety rules, managing department training, and ensuring proper radio procedures are followed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in dock/warehouse experience
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

Responsibilities

  • Supporting, adhering to, and implementing policies and assignments as directed by management.
  • Maintaining up-to-date packaging and supply inventories, tracking discrepancies, and investigating abnormalities.
  • Managing obsolete packaging within inventory and planning for its removal/transfer.
  • Providing adequate packaging/supplies and/or support to processing plant personnel.
  • Communicating with production personnel, sales, and the purchasing manager to anticipate future packaging and supply requirements.
  • Checking inventories and ordering packaging and supply needs to meet company thresholds.
  • Collaborating with the purchasing manager and purchasing coordinator to track and manage orders and deliveries.
  • Verifying documentation, reporting, and communicating around dock/warehouse/packaging activities.
  • Training shift personnel to manage internal processes, systems, and ordering of facility packaging and supplies.
  • Storing documents relating to dock receiving, QA incoming, packaging and supply inventories.
  • Ensuring proper storage and maintenance of equipment and materials.
  • Ensuring proper rotation of packaging and supplies.
  • Understanding and abiding by safety rules and reporting any accidents or safety violations.
  • Managing/tracking completion of monthly department training.
  • Adhering to and ensuring direct reports practice proper radio procedures.
