About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting with various packaging processes including set-up, bottle filling, cotton and desiccant insertion, capping, labeling, and packing of filled bottles. The position requires adherence to all food safety, food quality guidelines, and cGMP requirements per NSF and FDA. The individual will complete all required documentation for batch processing according to good documentation practices, prepare disinfectants, and perform sanitation/cleaning activities. They must also follow appropriate gowning, cGMP, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • 0-1 year of experience working with equipment or in a packaging environment, or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
  • Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise and heavy equipment in a packaging environment.
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules including weekends and overtime.
  • Basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, preferred.
  • Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Good decision-making skills.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in written documents.
  • Good time management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with plant sanitation, including sweeping, washing, and emptying waste containers, as well as shutdown clean-up.
  • Operate packaging equipment such as TC3 and Fairchild tablet counter/fillers, cotton and desiccant insertion equipment, bottle cappers, and CVC labelers used in the packaging of dietary supplements.
  • Meet all safety expectations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safe practices.
  • Complete all documentation required for packaging in a cGMP compliant manner, including packaging batch records (Travelers), box labels, room and equipment cleaning logbooks, and in-process documentation.
  • Work in a team environment and assist others as required.
  • Clean all equipment using current sanitation practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Follow instructions, including standard packaging procedures and processes.
  • Work within and around the plant to assist in the packaging of dietary supplements.
  • Work on a production line, following all standard operating procedures (SOP) for set-up, cotton, capper, sleever, sanitation, and other assigned tasks.
  • Comply with all Company Policies, Procedures, GMP’s, Code of Safe Practices, and SOP’s at all times.
  • Perform general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Take direction from the Pkg. Machine Operator I, Pkg. Machine Operator II, and Team Lead/Tech, as required.
  • Fill in for other positions as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Threshold management.
