About The Position

Handle, fill, and pool products to specified quantities for stock and customer orders. This role involves performing filling operations of liquid or powder products into various containers, ensuring accuracy and consistency for finished inventory, customer orders, and internal use. The technician will also ensure packaging vials and bottles are stocked and ordered as needed, communicate departmental priorities and delays, and ensure all work is properly recorded. Additionally, the role involves identifying equipment/tools for improvement, leading key pooling projects, conducting minor product testing, completing inventory pulls and counts, and acting as a subject matter expert for product fills and pools. Continuous improvement of the packaging department and logistics is a key aspect, along with strict adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in the field of science from an accredited college or university; or three-four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to record actions and notations to ensure full traceability of product.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals (simple amounts such percentages, volumes and conversion factors).

Responsibilities

  • Perform filling operations of liquid or powder products into various containers, ensuring accuracy and consistency, for finished inventory, customer orders and internal use.
  • Ensure that all packaging vials and bottles are stocked and ordered as needed.
  • Communicate within the department of priorities and delays
  • Assures that all work is properly recorded and signed off in lab notebooks, batch records, worksheets, or other appropriate documents.
  • Identify equipment/tools that can improve the packaging department as a whole
  • Lead key pooling projects at scales that exceed standard pool volumes with support from manufacturing and other groups as needed.
  • Conduct minor product testing such as pH, conductivity, and others as needed
  • Complete inventory pulls and counts when needed
  • Act as subject matter expert for product fills, pools, and other related tasks as needed
  • Continually work to improve the packaging department and logistics as a whole.
