Packaging Technician I - 2nd shift
About The Position
We are looking for a Packaging Technician I on 2nd shift to maintain, adjust and repair plant machinery to industry standards while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety, food safety and regulatory requirements. This role involves operating production machinery, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of packaged products. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Read equipment manuals and diagrams.
- Understand and be able to practice basic troubleshooting skills.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Nice To Haves
- Certificate from accredited college or technical school in Mechanical studies is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the set up and operation of the machine within accepted safety practices and the allotted time frame.
- Properly perform necessary setting adjustments.
- Properly perform film changes and ribbon changes including changeover from one dye to another.
- Ensure the products have the correct components before packing them.
- Continuously check the label, seals and date placement throughout the shift to ensure that every package label and date is correct.
- Fill out and sign all required documentation before each run.
- Monitor equipment operation to prevent unscheduled downtime.
- Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Production Leads and other Packaging Technicians on any situations arising during their shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
