Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours
Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
Act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies and procedures and Safety Standards (OSHA).

Nice To Haves

Min. 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred
Some lead experience preferred
Good mechanical skill

Responsibilities

Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment
Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed (e.g., Foil, Cartons, Trays)
Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow
Setup and operate multiple types of packaging equipment, including carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, and palletization equipment
Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required
Manage and assign break schedule for packers
Support troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers
Audit packer standard work and completion
Audit packer quality checks and completion
