About The Position

The Team Lead is responsible for the production floor by taking a leadership role with employees and ensuring that finished goods are produced in a safe, efficient, timely, and compliant manner meeting all FDA, GMP, ISO, OSHA, contract customer, and SAP policies. This role involves comprehending Standardized Work guidelines, applying the Plan-Do-Check-Adjust methodology, training employees, evaluating the work environment for safety, facilitating communication, and accurately managing documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions effectively.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email and basic software applications.
  • Oversee and manage a team of packaging associates.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the packaging team.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Basic conversational Spanish is a plus.
  • Lean training certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehend and apply Standardized Work guidelines for labor, equipment, and materials to achieve team objectives related to safety, productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Apply the Plan-Do-Check-Adjust methodology and act as a problem solver on the production floor.
  • Train employees in fundamental packaging skills, including proper adherence to BOM notes and Standard Procedures.
  • Evaluate the work environment for safety issues and implement solutions.
  • Facilitate communication between management, supervisors, the team, and cross-functional departments.
  • Properly allocate data into the Electronic Batch Record by accurately filling out necessary data fields.
  • Complete the line clearance process prior to each production run.
  • Perform fundamental maintenance tasks such as handling change of Tapes, Sleeves, and Safety tabs.
  • Conduct routine quality checks along the production lines.
  • Comprehend the production scheduling board and plan activities accordingly.
  • Work with critical information paperwork and adhere to documentation error checks.
  • Safely operate a pallet jack.
  • Ensure employees uphold cleanliness in their assigned areas.
  • Complete lean certification class and provide daily coaching on lean manufacturing practices.
  • Utilize the visual matrix to monitor the productivity of each production line.
  • Manage daily production board operations.
  • Interpret the Scheduling Board.
  • Fill in for a supervisor, including conducting meetings and preparing daily reports.
  • Work both on the inside and outside of the production lines.
  • Perform weekly performance evaluations for employees.
  • Oversee the On-The-Job Training certification program for new and existing staff members.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to packaging associates.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve issues.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
