About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing daily packaging operations, including production output, team management, compliance execution, and cross-functional coordination. The Packaging Supervisor will manage Packaging Leads and Agents across multiple packaging lines, ensuring efficient execution of Production Work Orders (PWOs), accurate inventory and compliance systems, and meeting quality and productivity expectations for a team of 20+ employees.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role within manufacturing, CPG, or production environments
  • Proven experience managing teams and driving operational performance
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment
  • High attention to detail with strong understanding of compliance and quality standards
  • Effective communication and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Proficiency in Windows-based systems; experience with METRC, Canix, or similar systems preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (100 pounds with assistance)
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to work around plant material, including exposure to pollen and dust
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise Packaging Leads and Agents (team size 20+)
  • Set daily staffing plans and allocate labor across packaging lines based on production needs
  • Coach and develop Packaging Leads to ensure strong floor-level leadership and accountability
  • Monitor team performance and hold Leads accountable for execution, productivity, and compliance
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance conversations, and development planning for direct reports
  • Manage timecards, PTO, attendance, and disciplinary actions
  • Lead annual performance reviews and support ongoing employee development
  • Own daily production performance and ensure completion of PWOs against schedule
  • Monitor throughput, efficiency, and labor utilization across packaging operations
  • Adjust staffing and priorities in real time to meet production goals
  • Ensure accurate execution of batch records and production documentation
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks impacting output and efficiency
  • Oversee all transactions within the state compliance tracking system (e.g., METRC) to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure proper execution of product conversions in Canix and alignment with physical inventory
  • Maintain batch integrity across all packaging activities and system transactions
  • Review and validate system activity to prevent discrepancies and compliance risks
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with Packaging Manager and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure audit readiness through accurate documentation and compliant system execution
  • Partner with Processing, Materials Management, and Order Fulfillment to align production flow and priorities
  • Ensure timely availability of bulk product and packaging materials to support production
  • Communicate production status, risks, and inventory issues to leadership and Sales as needed
  • Align packaging output with delivery schedules and business priorities
  • Oversee operation of automated packaging equipment and packaging lines
  • Ensure proper line setup, changeovers, and run documentation are completed accurately
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime
  • Monitor equipment performance and escalate recurring issues
  • Ensure all packaging activities meet quality standards, GMP requirements, and company SOPs
  • Enforce 6S standards and maintain clean, organized workspaces
  • Conduct routine floor walks (Gemba) to monitor performance, compliance, and safety
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline
