About The Position

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC, a third and fourth-generation, family-owned manufacturer of premium meat and cheese products, is seeking a 2nd Shift Packaging Supervisor. This role is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the packaging lines, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality. The supervisor will be actively involved on the production floor, mentoring the team, troubleshooting machinery, and maintaining a safe working environment. Requirements

Ability to engage employees, manage rotations, and set a professional example.
Comfort working with and troubleshooting production-related machinery.
A "quality-first" mindset with the ability to spot errors before they leave the floor.
Consistent attendance is vital.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day production process, ensuring lines run at peak efficiency to hit daily goals.
Act as a champion for safety by enforcing PPE usage, conducting "NIP point" training, and leading daily safety talks and stretches.
Manage the setup and function of high-tech machinery, including slicers, roll stock machines, metal detectors, and palletizers.
Onboard and cross-train new hires in a fast-paced environment.
Keep the team motivated and professional.
Identify mechanical or productivity bottlenecks.
Lead escalation and resolution for machinery downtime exceeding 30 minutes.
