Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year leadership or supervisory experience
  • Process flow knowledge of cheesemaking and packaging
  • Direct and schedule packaging team members – including interviewing, hiring, training, planning and schedule, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Experience with JD Edwards software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with automated equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • History of good attendance
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback to Production Manager, Quality Manager, and Plant Manager
  • Identify and implement cost savings, improvement, and safety measures to boost overall performance and proficiency
  • Create, schedule, print & release, issue materials, and complete all work orders on a daily and weekly basis
  • Coordinate with other department managers on order fulfillment of all orders
  • Direct and schedule Packaging Team Members
  • Material ordering and supplies
  • JD Edwards system entry
  • Attend staff and department meetings
  • Actively participate on EOE Teams that improve workplace safety, reduce waste and improve factory efficiencies
  • May be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend work.
  • Perform cleaning duties as assigned and complete control point log for those assigned cleaning duties.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury.
  • Take product samples for Quality Assurance Department
  • Complete pallet cards and control point paperwork
  • Train packaging technicians
  • Move the final product for the material handlers
  • Use of Forklifts and Electric Hand Jacks in a Safe and efficient manner. Obeying all operating procedures and safety regulations.
  • Completing daily forklift inspections, complying with OSHA regulations
  • Complete all required training in a timely manner
  • Adhere to ERU food and workplace safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)
