About The Position

The Bryan Eagle, a Lee Enterprises newspaper, is seeking a full-time, hands-on Packaging Supervisor for evening and nightly operations at a regional printing facility that prints multiple newspapers. The working supervisor is responsible for the quality, timeliness, and smooth operation of newspaper addressing, packaging, and inserting, while assisting and providing leadership to employees performing these functions.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and timely insertion, addressing, and packaging of inserted and mailed products.
Prepare nightly paperwork, reports, and tracking documents.
Set up inserter machine hoppers, ink jetting equipment, stackers, conveyors, and Mirasert.
Learn to address periodicals for mailing through USPS.
Stage pallets of print products; print and set up mail tags; and prepare mail sacks and labels.
Monitor preprints and Miracom file movement, mark and sort bundle tops, label files, and handle printing.
Meet deadlines, set priorities, control waste, and produce quality work.
Develop and motivate employees, support teamwork, and work independently as needed.
Operate a motorized pallet jack and fork truck.
Promote safety and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
