About The Position

The Bryan Eagle, a Lee Enterprises, Inc. paper, is seeking a full-time, hands-on Packaging Supervisor for a regional printing facility that prints multiple newspapers. This working supervisor supports and leads employees responsible for evening and nightly packaging operations, including addressing, inserting, and packaging newspapers. The role is responsible for ensuring products are prepared accurately and on time, preparing nightly paperwork and reports, setting up equipment, and promoting safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely insertion, addressing, and packaging of all inserted and mailed products.
• Prepare nightly paperwork, reports, and tracking documents.
• Set up equipment, including inserter machine hoppers, ink-jetting equipment, stackers, conveyors, and Mirasert.
• Learn to address periodicals for mailing via USPS.
• Stage pallets of print products; print and set up mail tags; and handle mail sacking and label making.
• Monitor preprints and Miracom file movement; mark and sort bundle tops; label files; and support printing.
• Meet deadlines, set priorities, control waste, and produce quality work.
• Develop and motivate employees, work collaboratively, and provide leadership to the team.
• Promote safety and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
