About The Position

Prepare and package large items securely for shipment, ensuring protection during transit. Measure, cut, and assemble packaging materials such as crates, pallets, and custom containers. Operate tools and equipment used in packaging, including banders, shrink wrap machines, and nail guns. Inspect items prior to packaging to verify condition and accuracy against shipping documents. Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and shipping markings are applied to all packages. Coordinate with warehouse and shipping teams to meet daily shipment deadlines. Follow company packaging standards and customer-specific packing requirements. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the packaging and staging areas. Monitor packaging material inventory and report shortages or needs. Assist with loading and securing packaged items for transport when required. Identify and report damages, discrepancies, or packaging issues. Support continuous improvement of packaging processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and shipping instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50–75 lbs or more depending on role)
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification
  • Experience building custom crates or pallets
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and freight handling
  • Experience with barcode scanning or inventory systems
  • 1–3 years of experience in packaging, warehouse operations, or shipping preferred
  • Experience handling large, heavy, or irregularly shaped items
  • Familiarity with packaging materials, tools, and safety procedures
