About The Position

This is a contract position for a Packaging Operator on the 3rd shift, working 10:15 pm to 6:15 am. The role is with a Medical Device Company and requires the ability to work overtime as needed. The operator will be responsible for various packaging tasks, including material handling, packaging final products, maintaining accurate records, operating and cleaning production equipment, and monitoring process parameters. The position requires adherence to safety policies and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing, packaging and/or warehouse environment.
Must be capable of performing heavy lifting/handling during a 10-hr. shift; 1-5 lb.- 70% ; 5-25 lbs. -30%.
Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs 50% to 95% of the workday.
Must be capable of passing the physical examination for forklift operations and respirator fit test.
Must be able to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

Moving required materials from defined storage or staging areas to workspace using material handling equipment including manual and motorized pallet jacks/walkies.
Packaging of final product into end-user containers per approved Standard Manufacturing Procedures (SMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Keeping accurate logs (both written and on computer) following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Following established procedures according to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Setting up, operating and cleaning production equipment including weighing scales, hand-filling equipment, Integrated Fill Lines (IFL) and Bagging equipment (SpeeDee & All-Fills).
Monitoring of critical meters, gauges and displays for process parameters (i.e.. temperature, humidity, RPMs).
Maintaining accurate production records, which include operation/cleaning logs, batch history records, Label reconciliation, work order information and other pertinent data.
Assuring final product is within final weight tolerance as specified per IMW A163.
Using independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, trouble-shoot and problem solve in areas on set up, operations, and processes.
Maintaining neat, accurate and complete records and logs and use calibration equipment and machine operations.
Following all client and DCM safety policies and procedures.
Working overtime as required to meet BD business requirements.
Performing other duties as DCM operations required.
