Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of APQP tools (e.g., Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences.
  • 2+ years of previous Quality Engineering experience (preferably within a manufacturing production setting).
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive related is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the Quality function such as customer service, metrology, and quality analysis techniques (i.e., Design of experiments, Red X, PPAP, Control Plan, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Update/maintain the Control Plan for the assigned workflows.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer/supplier representatives, maintaining positive communication and relationships, and supporting/attending meetings, reviews, and audits.
  • Ensure the quality system is maintained in accordance with YF iOS standards.
  • Facilitate problem-solving teams and respond to customer discrepancy notices.
  • Verify corrective actions and prepare customer correspondence related to quality concerns or issues.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, and report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
  • Establish process controls, assist in training for new projects, and provide buy-off on new/modified equipment and processes.
  • Participate in workgroups (e.g., FMEA, PSMC, etc.) and support risk and failure analysis (PFMEA) reviews.
  • Perform root cause analysis of technical quality problems with support from a cross-functional team.
  • Support quality/dimensional control systems (e.g., X&R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma, dimensional capability studies).
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Quality requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Work additional hours and/or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
