About The Position

Sequel Wire and Cable is seeking a Packaging Operator for their Low Voltage Division. This role is responsible for safely packaging, labeling, inspecting, and preparing finished wire and cable products for shipment. The ideal candidate will ensure products meet quality standards, customer specifications, and shipping requirements while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Previous packaging, manufacturing, or warehouse experience- wire and cable manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to read, follow, and understand work orders.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and overtime.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques when lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift driving experience desired, training provided.
  • Use of overhead cranes desired, training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Package finished wire and cable products according to customer specifications and company procedures.
  • Operate packaging equipment, stretch wrappers, banding machines, and other related tools.
  • Verify product identification, reel sizes, lengths, labels, and packaging requirements before shipment.
  • Inspect finished products for quality, damage, and proper labeling.
  • Apply labels, tags, and shipping documentation accurately.
  • Perform reel handling using forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, or other material handling equipment.
  • Weigh, measure, and record packaged products as required.
  • Maintain production records and complete required documentation.
  • Follow established quality control standards and report any product defects or discrepancies.
  • Assist with inventory movement and staging of finished goods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following all safety regulations.
  • Support production operations and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Read and comprehend production work orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Use forklifts to move materials.
