About The Position

Responsible for general assembly tasks associated with the packaging of quality cheese products. This role involves manually applying cheese and ingredients to production lines, performing manual packaging tasks such as bagging, wrapping, labeling, boxing, and palletizing. The operator will also restock packaging materials, monitor production flow, remove and potentially reapply bad product to the line, and ensure documentation is performed in accordance with policies and procedures. Quality assurance is key, involving multiple inspections/tests and documentation. The role also includes setting up, adjusting, monitoring, and performing general operating maintenance on production equipment, reporting noncompliance issues to leadership, validating ingredients and materials, and accurately completing paperwork and inventory system transactions. Handling and using cleaning chemicals and performing sanitation duties are also part of the responsibilities, along with other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand instructions.
• Maintain good sanitation and housekeeping practices.
• Comply with all quality system and regulatory requirements.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Requires regular attendance.
• Ability to manipulate, lift and position heavy equipment
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel and crawl, occasionally climb steps and safety ladders, continuous walking and standing
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

• Manually apply cheese and ingredients to the appropriate production line
• Perform manual packaging tasks such as bagging/wrapping/labeling/boxing/palletizing
• Restock packaging materials into machines such as boxes/tape/glue/film
• Monitor production flow, remove bad product as needed and potentially reapply it to the line
• Ensure documentation performed is in accordance with policies and procedures
• Ensure product quality through multiple inspections/tests and documentation of those activities
• Set up, adjust, monitor and perform general operating maintenance on production equipment
• Report noncompliance of production issues to the leadership teams
• Validate ingredients and material used in the production process
• Ensure paperwork and inventory systems transactions are accurately completed and performed in a timely manner
• Handle and use cleaning chemicals and perform sanitation duties
• Other duties as assigned
