About The Position

This role involves packaging a variety of products according to customer specifications. The Packaging Operator I will review work orders to determine packaging requirements, visually inspect products for defects, and transfer defective items. Responsibilities include manual weighing and counting of product, loading product into packaging machines, monitoring machines for proper function, and unloading and inspecting packaged product to ensure quality standards are met. The operator will also place packaged product into boxes, apply identification labels, and accurately complete departmental paperwork. This job description is not exhaustive and duties may change or new ones may be assigned. Employees are expected to participate in safety and health program activities, report hazards and incidents, wear required personal protective equipment, and support safety committee activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Attendance/Punctuality: Consistently at work and on time.

  • Quantity: Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
