About The Position

We have an excellent opportunity for a Packaging Lead in Scott City, MO! Candidates must be willing to work 6:30am - 7pm and every other weekend. This position is responsible for providing leadership and training while managing the workload as the leader for the Packaging department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior supervisory, team lead or foreman experience
  • Ability to motivate through hands-on leadership
  • Verbal, written and math proficiency
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively work with and direct a team environment

  • Packaging or process experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an efficient and safe plant environment that meets company and departmental goals.
  • Develop key indicators to measure quality, productivity, and utilization.
  • Train operators and support personnel as needed.
  • Create a team working environment within the area.
  • Evaluate performance of operations.
  • Maintain necessary records for accounting functions and customer audits.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for equipment and processes.
  • Provide leadership for all department personnel.
  • Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable.
  • Responsible for quality of work within area.
  • Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement programs such as SOP’s.
  • Ensure proper utilization of company SOP’s.
  • Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
  • Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
  • Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
  • Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
  • Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance.
  • Follow established Human Resources procedures.
  • Ensure proper training and adherence to area SOP’s.
  • Assist with evaluating the performance of subordinates.
  • Create a team working environment.
  • Develop key indicators to measure quality and productivity.
  • Open Communications to be a team player and do other tasks as necessary.
