About The Position

Allweather Wood Company, LLC (AWW) is looking for Packaging Laborers to join the Team at our Ukiah, CA treating facility. This is a non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $24.87 and includes benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and 401K Matching. We have openings on Swing Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am)! Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to follow instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form and apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks
Basic reading and writing skills, including the ability to read instructions and memos and write simple sentences

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification preferred, or the ability to successfully complete training and obtain certification

Responsibilities

Keeps production areas clean and safe and assists in other areas of the warehouse in a safe and productive manner.
Perform lumber piece pulls
Apply and remove banding as needed
Operate and utilize the lumber track system
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and perform general housekeeping duties
Complete barcoding activities accurately
Provide relief support for machine operators
Assist on the lumber wrap line
Support lumber treater operations as a helper
Conduct inventory and cycle counts
Work in various departments as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
Willingness to work weekends and off shift dependent on market conditions
