About The Position

The Forklift Operator’s role is to move products, materials, or equipment, meeting or exceeding customer specs and productivity requirements. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast-paced, quality-centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Forklift experience in manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of sit-down forklift experience
  • Basic computer knowledge and understanding.
  • Clean driving record with no property damage accidents within the past three years
  • Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have previous experience with Sheet Metal
  • Satisfactorily pass the in-company forklift certification program
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and product labels.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to exude high energy, solution-based thinking, while focusing great attention to detail, and maintaining a service-oriented disposition.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse, shipping, packaging, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience handling metal products or industrial materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operations and safety checks, including battery, seat belt, brakes, life control, and fire extinguisher.
  • Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials.
  • Check the identification of materials to be moved.
  • Cross-references with production schedule or shipping schedule to ensure accuracy.
  • Proceeds safely to the assigned area to pull the load and move materials to the correct work area.
  • Package fabricated metal parts, assemblies, and finished products for domestic and international shipments.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and customer specifications before packaging.
  • Inspect products for damage, defects, or quality concerns prior to shipment.
  • Label, tag, and prepare shipments according to company and customer requirement
  • Report the inconsistencies or problems to supervisors
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
