As a Packaging Designer, you will follow best practices for structural creation, lead the design process for folding carton packaging (including brainstorming, sketching, and creating prototypes), and work with clients to understand their packaging structural needs. You will also evaluate consumer and market trends for packaging materials, conduct research on technology, techniques, innovations, new products, and new materials, and understand and optimize material choices based on customer requirements and material availability, providing guidance on cost-effective designs. Responsibilities include creating designs using CAD and Artios, maintaining project files and CAD files, operating and maintaining the sample cutting table, managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, converting sketches and ideas into 2D/3D display models, and acting as a liaison between the customer and production to ensure project execution meets customer expectations.

Requirements

  • A complete understanding of packaging techniques/methods and structural packaging design.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 + years of job-related experience.
  • Experience operating a sample cutting table.
  • Proficiency with Artios CAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
  • Team Player with ability to multi-task with deadlines while still meeting standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
  • Trouble shooting mind set.
  • Attention to detail and excellent close vision.
  • Good time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with other Esko software like Cape Pack and WebCenter is a plus.
  • Being well versed with Adobe applications and Salesforce is desired but not required.

Responsibilities
