About The Position

The Packaging Coordinator is responsible for coordinating packaging development projects from concept through production for nutraceutical products. This role serves as a key liaison between Marketing, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Operations, and external vendors to ensure packaging is delivered on time, aligns with brand standards, meets regulatory requirements, and supports business objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in packaging coordination, artwork management, labeling, and project execution within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a related field; or Minimum of two (2) years of experience in packaging coordination, artwork management, labeling, packaging development, or a related role.
  • Experience within nutraceutical, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, food, or consumer packaged goods industries preferred.
  • Understanding of packaging materials and formats including: HDPE and PET bottles, Labels and label substrates, Cartons and corrugated packaging, Flexible films and pouches, Blister packaging and foil materials, Caps, lids, liners, inserts, and closures.
  • Knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging systems.
  • Familiarity with printing processes, packaging specifications, and artwork production workflows.
  • Understanding of packaging document control and revision management.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience using project management software such as Monday.com, Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience maintaining packaging specifications and project documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, food, or consumer packaged goods industries.
  • Familiarity with GS1 barcode standards and barcode management.
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and initiatives.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers.
  • Familiarity with domestic or international packaging and labeling requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate packaging development projects from concept through production launch.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate communication between Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Operations, and external vendors.
  • Track packaging changes, revisions, approvals, and implementation schedules.
  • Support packaging change control processes and implementation activities.
  • Coordinate phase-in and phase-out plans for packaging updates and product launches.
  • Coordinate development of packaging concepts that align with established brand standards and product positioning.
  • Collaborate with internal designers and external design agencies to develop packaging artwork and packaging components.
  • Coordinate review and approval processes for labels, cartons, inserts, pouches, and other packaging materials.
  • Review artwork files, dielines, and specifications for accuracy prior to production.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all packaging assets and approved artwork.
  • Coordinate packaging reviews with Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with FDA, FTC, DSHEA, and applicable nutraceutical regulations.
  • Verify packaging artwork contains accurate regulatory information, including Supplement Facts Panels, ingredient declarations, warnings, and required disclosures.
  • Support the packaging approval process by ensuring regulatory feedback is incorporated into final artwork.
  • Maintain records of packaging approvals and compliance documentation.
  • Support packaging material evaluations and recommendations that balance functionality, cost, consumer appeal, and sustainability goals.
  • Assist in evaluating primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging options for new and existing products.
  • Stay informed on packaging materials, technologies, and industry trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company, packaging suppliers, printers, converters, and contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinate artwork submissions, proof reviews, and production approvals.
  • Monitor supplier timelines and communicate project status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in resolving packaging-related production and supplier issues.
  • Coordinate packaging implementation activities with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Operations teams.
  • Monitor packaging inventory transition plans during artwork revisions and product changes.
  • Assist in identifying potential packaging supply risks and communicate concerns to stakeholders.
  • Support packaging readiness for product launches and production schedules.
